Stav Livne, MA, LP

Stav Livne, MA, LP is a Licensed Psychoanalyst providing psychotherapy to adults in New York and New Jersey.
She works with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, life transitions, parenting challenges, grief, immigration, and other emotional concerns.
She has a particular interest in supporting women through all stages of life, with a special focus on the perinatal period, including pregnancy, postpartum adjustment, fertility challenges, and the transition to parenthood.
Stav is currently completing her Perinatal Mental Health Certification (PMH-C) through Postpartum Support International, an advanced training in perinatal mental health.
Stav earned her Master's degree in Educational and Clinical Child Psychology from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and completed her psychoanalytic training at the William Alanson White Institute in New York. Her work is informed by relational psychodynamic and psychoanalytic thinking while remaining flexible and responsive to each person's unique needs.
She believes therapy is a collaborative process of developing greater awareness of the emotional and relational patterns that shape our lives. Together with her clients, Stav explores thoughts, feelings, experiences, and relationships with curiosity rather than judgment, to better understand what may be contributing to distress and what can foster meaningful change.
She strives to create a warm, thoughtful, and trusting space where clients feel supported in building a more authentic and fulfilling relationship with themselves and others.
In addition to her work with adults, Stav's background in child psychology provides a developmental perspective that enriches her understanding of how early experiences continue to influence emotional life and relationships throughout adulthood.
